The date set for working is Saturday, March 17, at 9:00 a.m. If you are available to help, contact Mrs. Roe or Shellie Stroud at the school by calling 353-4321. Centerpoint Baptist Church will hold its annual homecoming Sunday, March 11, with Rev. Gary Turner as guest speaker. Lunch will be served and a singing will be held in the afternoon. Everyone is invited to attend. Center Ridge Cemetery Assn. will have its annual meeting Sunday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m. in Center Grove Methodist Church. Red River Baptist Association is offering disaster relief training, basic training for new volunteers and previously trained volunteers. Red River Baptist Association will offer a literacy training workshop on March 31. The workshop includes English as a second language,' tutoring youth and children,' and adult reading and writing.' Call Margaret Gillaspie at 246-4224 for more information. Gurdon High School will present its second annual Campus Cuties,' Saturday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m in the GHS cafeteria. Admission will be $4 for adults and $3 for senior adults and children under 12. Proceeds will benefit the 2001 junior-senior prom. The Gurdon High School class of 1971 is planning its 30-year reunion. If you have addresses for graduates of 1971 call Dinah Buck at 353-4641 or Kathy Anderson at 353-3853. The 26th annual Festival of Two Rivers to be held Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, in Arkadelphia. Festival hours are 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 13 and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 14. Kids' run will begin at 8:00 a.m. on April 14 at the courthouse. For additional information contact the Arkadelphia Chamber of Commerce at 870-246-5542. Bethel A.M.E. Church is holding its spring musical March 17 at 7:00 p.m and wish to invite all churches to attend. The musical is sponsored by Sis. Bertha Vinson. The eighth annual Sawmill Days Festival will take place Saturday, April 14, in downtown Sparkman. Crafters, vendors and entertainers are needed to make this year's event a success. The Miss Sawmill Days Pageant will be held Saturday, March 24, and will take place in the Sparkman School cafeteria at 6 p.m. For more information call 870-678-221 during the day or 870-678-9389 after 6 p.m. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4710.
