Into The Void with John Miller

Our idiot president, George W. Bush, the son of a former idiot president, George Herbert Walker Bush, should be impeached right now, before he has the time to do some real damage to the nation.

In less than a month Dubbya has proposed a tax cut of a trillion dollars. While claiming it amounts to a family of four getting $1,600 a year back, the only people who would really see much of a benefit are those making more than $300,000 a year, as they'd get back $50,000 under his staggered tax break. Single people would be reamed if they weren't in the upper income bracket.

And Dubbya, who has admitted taking cocaine years ago, has suggested funding religious charities to help fight the drug problem. His reasoning being such organizations already have programs underway to help people overcome drug addictions and would do a better job than the government.

He wants to put billions of dollars into the hands of religious groups and charities over the next 10 years with the idea they would provide after-school daycare programs, prison ministries and drug-treatment programs. All this sounds great, but it simply won't work.

First off, there are still too many people like Jim and Tammy Faye Baker out there who would take the money and make sure their pets had gold ornaments in their homes. Jimmy Swaggart is still roaming around, looking for his next hooker. What could he do with access to billions of taxpayers' dollars?

Most of all, Dubbya seems to have forgotten the U.S. Supreme Court ruled several years ago Satanism is a legal and legitimate religion. Question: Who wants their child/children to stay in a daycare ran by devil worshipers? By law, if Bush's plan goes through, the federal government would have no choice but to fund the Satanists, just as it would Christian organizations.

But the problem goes even deeper. Let's not forget about the multitude of cults passing themselves off as religions. They, too, could apply for federal funding and would have to either be granted the money or go through a lengthy suit at the taxpayers' expense. The ACLU would be more than glad to oblige them.

So far, all Dubbya's done is bring back daddy's programs, while daddy swiped them from Reagan, who got them from Nancy, who was told what to do by her astrologer.

Economic rule one: trickle down economics doesn't work, because the money doesn't trickle down. The rich get tax breaks and incentives and keep the money. The middle and lower classes get shafted by having to pay a larger share of the tax burden and get nothing in return.

Economic rule two: It is impossible to continually spend without having money come in. So far Dubbya has only talked about spending, spending and more spending, without saying where the money to pay the bills will be coming from.

It's a good idea to raise the pay for our soldiers. No complaints there; they deserve to be well paid if there's the possibility they may have to die to defend this nation. Again, though, Dubbya hasn't bothered to say how he plans to pick up the tab for these raises.

Sure, the Clinton administration left the nation with a budget surplus, but this money could be better spent by paying down some of the national debt the U.S. was burdened with by Reagan-Bush and Bush-Quayle.

The surplus could also be used to improve education across the U.S., especially in PUBLIC SCHOOLS (places Dubbya has a problem with and wants to see eliminated much like our own Gov. Huckleberry Hound).

Some of it could be used to help fund military pay raises, but the proposed tax cut for the rich and letting religious groups get their greedy claws in the public till are ideas best forgotten.

Now, if Bush wants to help the nation with a tax cut, the middle class should receive the largest break, as it has bore the brunt of paying for everything else in the country for years.

The upper class has loopholes galore, while the lower income bracket has built-in tax breaks as well, though not enough. Almost since the inception of the Infernal Revenue Service, it's been America's middle class who's had to pick up the tab, and this group is shrinking rapidly under the burdens place on it.

Dubbya is reminiscent of Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette of France. Their "programs" allowed the rich and aristocratic to play, enjoy much leisure and basically have a good time, while everyone else in France paid the bills under a heavy tax burden.

History students will remember Louis's "programs" led to the French Revolution and overthrow of his throne.

The best thing for the United States at this time would be to get Dubbya out of office and send him back to Texas where he belongs.
