ClarificationPublished Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThree accounts with the city of Prescott, which officials wrote off in 2000, paid their accounts off at a later date, according to records. Rae Lathrop, David Adkins and Jeff Ridgell all paid their accounts in full before the end of the year. The account for Maxine's Diner was not, at the time of the write-off, in the name of former owner Maxine Milner, who founded the restaurant. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
