Nevada County Picayune and Gurdon Times Newspaper Archive |
Redland NewsHAZEL MEEKSPublished Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune This is Monday and it's not raining at this time, but we have a promise it's on the way. I'm so sorry I don't have good news about Mozelle Gill, but her condition seems to be getting worse. Betty Meeks Wilson of Hot Springs Village spent the weekend with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Charity, Randy and Caleb Lowdermilk. Bill Ridling Jr. is spending a few days here with his wife Donna and mother Lela Faye. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Bill Freeman. His funeral is Wednesday. Willie and Julene Hulan visited their son Thomas and his family in Gurdon one day last week. Thomas is recovering from foot surgery. Pershing and Mary Cox visited their son Mike in Camden one day last week. They all enjoyed a fish dinner. Ann Wylie took her mother, Mary Cox, to see her doctor in Texarkana on Thursday. Glad to report Mary is doing real well. Oh, yeah! They let Pershing go along. Wilma Compton had all her family for lunch Sunday. Those attending were Junior and Kay Kendricks, Paul, Linda and Tommy Ghormley, Shanna, David and Tyler Henderson, Darlene and Jerry Henderson, and, of course, the most honored and important guest was the daughter and granddaughter Jessica and Nick, who will be married Sunday at the Assembly of God Church. All friends and relatives are invited. They will leave soon for Hawaii, where he is stationed in the military. My idea of an agreeable person is a person who agrees with me.
