Terry Jack Walker, 60, of Leona, Texas, died early on Monday, February 26, 2001, at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mr. Walker was born August 18, 1940, in Bluff City to Lawrence Walker and Mattie Mae Carter Walker. He graduated from high school in Prescott. He served almost four years in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He worked for Southland Corporation for about 13 years. He then became an independent owner of his own convenience stores for about 20 years in Galveston County, Texas, after which he retired and became a cattle rancher. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Walker and Mattie Mae Walker, and by two brothers, Glen Walker and Lyndale Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Walker of Leona, Texas; two sons, Mark Kevin Walker of Sante Fe, Texas, and Keith Brandon Walker of Leona, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Delaine Lane of Sante Fe, Texas, and Tracie Renae Keeling of Leona, Texas; three brothers, Bob Walker of Gurdon; Bill Walker of Bluff City and Ted Walker of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Nell Wanda McKelvy of Bluff City and Mary Ann Walker of Camden; eleven grandchildren, James Brent Lane, Melissa Brooke Lane, Kara Brianne Lane, Derek Scott Walker, Darren Lee Walker, Kayla Nichole Walker, Krsiten Lee Walker, Meagan Delaine Walker, Brandon Keith Walker, John Dalton Keeling and Cheyenne Renae Keeling; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bluff City Church of Christ in Bluff City with Mr. Carl L. Dougan officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. Pallbearers will be nephews James Walker, Terry Halbert Walker, Mike Walker, Barry Walker, Ronnie McKelvy and Richard McKelvy. Alternate pallbearers will be nephews Terry Glen Walker, Brent Walker, Kevin Walker and Steven Walker.

Visitation will be held at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott on Thursday, March 1, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
