Published Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Rose Garden Cub met in the home of Allene Spencer on February 20 at 1:30 p.m. with Flo Brackmon as co-hostess.

Betty Turner, president, presided over the business meeting.

The club voted to purchase 10 redbud and dogwood trees to be planted at the new Senior Citizens Center at East Main and Fifth.

The president read a letter from First Lady Janet Huckabee, encouraging the club to join with other garden clubs of Arkansas in purchasing a one-place setting of Lenox China to be used in the newly decorated Governor's mansion. The members voted to be a part of this and will purchase a one-piece setting.

Several members of the club plan to attend the Arkansas State Flower and Garden Show on March 3 in Little Rock.

The president announced that the Camden Daffodil Festival will be held in Camden March 9 and 10.

In the absence of program chairman Leona Ballard, Betty Turner gave a demonstration on using individual arrangements placed on the dining table using jonquils and greenery.

Betty Turner and Penny Richards brought lovely spring arrangements for the members to enjoy.
