GERTRUDE HENRY
Published Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

Sis. Velma (Martin) Mixon, a retired teacher of Oak Grove and Nevada Schools, was honored for her untiring, dedicated services to her students, community and church family Sunday during the Black History program at Pleasant Grove. Her sister, Iris Jean Dansby, presented her a large bouquet of roses. Sis. Nadean Henry wrote and read the biography of Sis. Mixon.

Funeral services for Harvest Ingram Jr., the son of Harvest and Luella Ingram, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City.

Thought for the week: Train up a child in the way he should go, but be sure you go that way yourself.
