HAZEL MEEKS
Published Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

I sure can't swim, but I'm gonna keep my boot handy.

I did write a dab of news last week, but due to a misunderstanding I missed the deadline. Therefore, I may do a few week-old things.

Boughton Baptist Church and friends surprised Don and Patricia Ingersoll with gifts for their newly remodeled home.

Frances Bidwell and daughter Dina from Marshall, Texas, make a quick trip to Arkansas one day last week and had lunch with Don and Pat Ingersoll.

I'm really not doing any good health-wise' and on Wednesday night about a dozen teenagers from Shady Grove, along with the sponsors, Kim Cox, Pam Taylor and Rhonda Hillery, came by to say Hello' and brought many, many useful goodies.

The day care center honored their parents and some grandparents with a luncheon on Valentine's Day. A few I know who attended were Darren and Kristi Neal with their daughter Emilee; Ronnie and Barbara Lowdermilk were with their grandson Caleb Lowdermilk (my great grandson); Chanda Martin was with her son Lane; and Charles and Vickye Backus with little daughter Sadie. Many more proud parents and grandparents were there, but I just happen to know these I mentioned.

Mickey and Nickie Byers recently honored their little daughter Jessie on her birthday at the Playland Park in Texarkana. It would be impossible to name everyone, but many from Shady Grove Baptist Church attended.

The report from Mozelle Gill is not good after hip surgery in Little Rock.

Agnes Morrow was really thrilled to have her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Rodney Reynolds, from McMinnville, Tenn., spending the weekend celebrating her birthday. Robert and Maria Morrow had all the family over one night to honor the birthdays of their granddaughters, Renee and Natasha.

Tommy Ghormley from Little Rock is spending several days with his parents, Linda and Paul Ghormley.

Mr. and Mrs. Richards took their son Zack and three other boys, Eli Ratcliff, Zack Martin, and Duston Morrow to parts of the Mardi Gras in Louisiana over the weekend.

Jim and Betty Roberson from Dallas visited her brothers, Bud and Bobby Taylor, and their families over the weekend.
