Bluff City EHCPublished Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met February 9 at the Church of Christ. There were 10 members present. The meeting was called to order by Marguerite Tomlin, president. Laverne Green, secretary, called the roll. Everyone answered with "A blessing I received" or "A nice surprise." There were many blessings mentioned. The love of God is so great to us all. Just to live and enjoy the lovely earth and all of its wonders is a blessing. The minutes were read by Laverne Green, secretary. The treasurer's report was given by Ruth Sullivan. All business was taken care of. There is a trip planned for club members to a garden show in Little Rock. If you love flowers or enjoy growing a garden I'm sure you will enjoy it very much. The program for this month was on osteoporosis and what we can do to help ourselves and families. This is a bone problem and we can help to prevent it with the right foods and exercise. You can get more information at the Extension office. Candace Carrie will be glad to help. Talk with your doctor before you make any decisions on treating osteoporosis.
