Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Gurdon Times On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the center Valentine King and Queen, Ross Carter and Mildred Ferguson, were crowned. Several of Ross and Mildred's relatives were there to help celebrate. We are so glad that we have our senior adult center in Gurdon. Our activity director, Royce Ann Barbaree, is doing a good job planning activities for us. Several of us, as well as Charlotte Shepherd and Martha Bearden, went on a shopping trip to Hot Springs last Thursday. It was raining, but we all enjoyed it. We also enjoyed the square dancers last Friday. Feb. 19-23 will be Nutrition Week with Dr. Barbara Holt. Mike Nicko from KARK-tv will be at the center on the 28th. It was really wonderful to see the sunshine today. Our prayers are still with our sick ones. They are Junior Thrasher, Bennie Freeman, Eulah Wilson, Dr. George Peeples, Jean Peeples and Maxine Purifoy. The center is a program of the Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way Agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
