Rep. Rodgers To Assist At Girls State

State Rep. Sandra D. Rodgers of Hope will serve as a member of a legislative delegation assisting in the 1999 Arkansas Girls State government education program, House Speaker Bob Johnson of Bigelow announced.

Arkansas Girls State is a week-long program involving hundreds of high school seniors and sponsored by the Arkansas American Legion Auxiliary.

Most of the program will be held May 30-June 4 on the campus of Harding University in Searcy. Delegates also will travel to Little Rock to meet with government officials and hold mock legislative proceedings in the chambers of the House and Senate.

Rep. Sue Madison of Fayetteville and Rep. Jo Carson of Fort Smith will serve as chair and vice-chair, respectively, of the House delegation assisting Girls State.
