Local Baseball Registration UnderwayPublished Wednesday, February 14, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesThe 2001 baseball and softball seasons are close at hand. In order to meet the different obligations that the leagues have, it is essential for registration to begin. The sign-up dates are Saturday, March 3, and Saturday, March 10. Registration on both days will be at Gurdon City Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All first year players must present a copy of their birth certificates at the time that they register. The deadline to sign-up to play tee-ball, softball, little league or Babe Ruth will be March 10. All kids are encouraged to participate this year. The group also needs everyone to participate in the park work days that are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, and Saturday, Feb. 24. Parents, especially should go out to help make the park a cleaner, safer place for kids to play ball. The Gurdon Baseball and Softball Boosters will meet Feb. 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Gurdon City Hall.
