Red Springs EHCPublished Wednesday, February 14, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesComputer Lingo' was the program presented by Ruthel Smith, family and human development leader to the Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Gurdon Municipal Building. Ruthel gave helpful information, as when buying a computer there is no need to buy the most expensive one on the market, but it is important to know what brand will work best for you. A few mentioned were, the Dell, Gateway and Hewlett-Packard. More information can be obtained from the Clark County Extension office. Vice president Sybil Harris presided over the business session. Joyce Rutherford gave the inspirational reading, Slow Me Down, Lord.' Twenty members and one visitor answered roll call by stating how computers affect their lives. A fifty-dollar donation was given to the Red Cross Disaster Fund. Fabric bags will be made and given to the Arkansas Children's Hospital for Easter. Lavene Bauer gave a donation to be used to purchase sturdy fabric for the project. The door prize was won by Elizabeth Wilson. The meeting adjourned with the reading, Take time to help and enjoy friends, to love, dream, laugh, plan, play, read, worship, and work.'
