Gurdon First Assembly of God will have a missions convention this weekend, Feb. 16-18. Missionary David Duncan, who has a global teaching ministry, will speak at a missions dinner on Friday, Feb. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday at 1:00 p.m. a meeting will feature missionaries Ben and Becky Adams, who are planting a new church in Vilonia. This service will conclude with a pizza snack for youth and children.

On Sunday each service will have a missions message from one of the missionaries. Sunday services are at 10:00 a.m., Sunday school at 11:00 a.m. and evening worship service at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to all services. For more information call 353-2804.

A celebration of the sixteenth pastoral anniversary of Rev. Johnny C. Harris and his family will be held on Sunday, March 4, at 3:00 p.m at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 504 South 5th St. in Gurdon. Guest church will be the Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. The public and all churches are invited to attend.

First Christian Church, Third and Joslyn, Gurdon with pastor, Bro. Johnny Daugherty and members welcome you to their services Sunday school at 10:00 a.m., Sunday worship service at 11:00 a.m., Sunday evening services begin with choir practice at 5:00 p.m and services at 6:00 p.m. For more information call Bro. Bethel A.M.E. Church is holding its spring musical March 17 at 7:00 p.m and wish to invite all churches to attend. The musical is sponsored by Sis. Bertha Vinson.

There will be pre-anniversary sweet sixteen' musical gala for pastor Johnny C. Harris and family Feb. 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 504 South Fifth St. in Gurdon. Everyone and all churches are invited.

Black History Celebration will be held at the Eastern Star Baptist Church Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning at 2:30 p.m with guest church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Quinton Radford, pastor. Rev. Radford will bring the message. All churches are invited to attend. Marshall Allen, pastor.

A pre-anniversary musical for pastor Johnny C. Harris and his family will be held Feb. 25, at 3:00 p.m at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Everyone and all churches are invited to attend.

Ricky and Terri McClure are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Lani Jo McClure, born Wednesday, January 31, 2001. Lani weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and she was 19 inches long. She was welcomed home by her brother and sister, Josh and Racheal McClure.

Grandparents are Delmas and Betty McClure of Gurdon and David and Betty Joyner of El Dorado. Great grandparents are W.B. and Emogene Kinder of Gurdon.

The eighth annual Sawmill Days Festival will take place Saturday, April 14, in downtown Sparkman. Crafters, vendors and entertainers are needed to make this year's event a success.

The Miss Sawmill Days Pageant will be held Saturday, March 24, and will take place in the Sparkman School cafeteria at 6 p.m.

The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.
