Senior night didn't go as planned for the Curley Wolves and Wolverettes, as both fell to Nashville in the final home game of the season.

WOLVES 48

SCRAPPERS 62

The Wolves, leg weary from a Thursday night road game at Fountain Lake, weren't able to keep pace with the fresher Scrappers as they lost 62-48.

Prescott won the opening tip, lost the ball and saw Nashville put the first two points on the board. The Wolves rallied with three straight three-pointers to go up 9-5.

Play inside was rough as both teams fought for rebounding position, as neither shot particularly well early on.

At the 3:15 mark in the first, Prescott held a 13-10 lead. The Scrappers then went on an 11-2 run for the remainder of the period and led 21-15 at the end of one, nailing a trey at the buzzer.

The Wolves again had the ball to start the second, lost it and saw the Scrappers score.

While the Wolves hustled all over the court, they were inconsistent offensively and turned the ball over several times.

Nashville, being better rested, was sharper and began pulling away from Prescott in the second.

With 4:32 left, the Scrappers were up 29-18, and led 34-23 with 2:47 showing.

The Scrappers, when open, were deadly from the perimeter, and posted a 36-25 lead at halftime.

The third quarter got off to a sloppy start as both teams turned the ball over. However, Prescott scored on a fast break finished off with a dunk.

The Wolves cut the lead to 36-32, only to see Nashville score the next six and push the lead to 42-32.

Prescott wasn't ready to mail it in yet and battled back to make it 42-37 with 2:03 remaining, but was outscored 7-3 for the rest of the quarter and trailed 49-40 going into the fourth.

The Wolves missed their first shot of the fourth quarter, with Nashville pulling down the rebound and scoring on a fast break.

Fatigue began taking its toll on Prescott players in the final eight minutes as the Scrappers were able to pull away and secure the win.

Justin Tidwell led the Wolves with 18 points.

Keadrean Finley was the game's leading scorer with 24 for Nashville, while Brad Gordon chipped in 17.

The Wolves were 11 of 16 from the line, while Nashville hit six of 14.

Prescott led two of the game's four quarters, but not the most important one the last one, as the went down 51-40 to Nashville.

The Wolverettes took the opening tip, but were unable to score. Nashville opened the game with a three in a first quarter filled with plenty of action, but little scoring.

Nashville built an 8-4 lead with 3:44 left in the first, with Prescott scoring the last three points in the period.

The Wolverettes had several opportunities to take the lead, but had problems finding the bottom of the bucket. However, the team was aggressive and hustled on both sides of the ball. The second quarter was much like the first, though the Wolverettes opened by taking the lead.

Prescott and Nashville ran up and down the court, with neither able to shoot well, though both had chances.

Midway through the second, the Scrapperettes split their defense from a 3-2 zone to a triangle-two.

While it bothered Wolverette players Prescott was still able to fight back and take a 19-16 lead at halftime.

The first half was played at a blazing pace, taking a scant 32 minutes to complete.

After both teams missed to get the third underway, Nashville got the scoring started.

The Wolverettes were patient on offense, working the ball for a good shot, then pressing on defense to harass Nashville ball handlers.

Still, there was little scoring as Prescott clung to a 26-25 lead at the end of the third.

The game at Fountain Lake Thursday, Feb. 1, took its toll on the Wolverettes in the fourth quarter against Nashville, as fatigue started to set in.

With 6:53 left the Scrapperettes were in the bonus situation. Nashville built a 31-26 lead before the Wolverettes hit a pair of free throws at the 6:26 mark.

Fouls slowed the pace of the game considerably in the fourth quarter, as Prescott entered the bonus with 5:55 left in the contest.

Nashville began to find its range and stretched its lead to 36-28 with 4:54 showing, and 41-35 at the 2:06 point in the game.

The major difference was Nashville was able to hit its free throws down the stretch, while Prescott was forced to shoot threes to try and catch up.

Late in the contest, it became a war of attrition as several Prescott players fouled out.

Sophia Dunn led Prescott with 14, while Lateisha Heard added 11.

Prescott hit 13 of 21 free throws, while Nashville netted 18 of 35.
