Blevins BBQ Is SuccessfulPublished Wednesday, May 5, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneAn estimated crowd of 600 to 650 people turned out at the 13th annual Blevins community area-wide benefit barbecue for the Arkansas Children's Hospital that was held Saturday, May 1. The total raised during the benefit was $6,100 with more donations expected to come in. The cake auction raised a total of $2,946 with the highest cake bringing $300. The rocking chair donated by T.C. Cranford raised a total of $356. The community expressed its appreciation to all who participated, including the entertainers and those who made donations and who contributed.
