College News - Two Earn ScholarshipsPublished Wednesday, February 7, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesLeslie R. Baumgardner and Leah M. Edwards, both students at Gurdon High School, have been awarded scholarships at Henderson State University. Baumgardner has been awarded the University Academic Scholarship for 2001-02. She is the daughter of Bryan Baumgardner and Wendy Davis. Edwards has been awarded the University Academic Scholarship for 2001-02. She is the daughter of Cleo Edwards. According to Vikita Hardwrick, director of university relations- admissions, this scholarship may be offered to high school graduates who have an ACT composite score of 24-26 or 1100-1190 recentered SAT or valedictorian of their high school graduating class.
