Earl A. 'Sonny' AllenHORNE FUNERAL HOME of GURDONPublished Wednesday, February 7, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Earl A. Sonny' Allen, 79, departed this life Friday, February 2, 2001. Mr. Allen was a retired car man for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and a retired merchant, operating Allen's Grocery for a number of years in Gurdon. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gurdon. His sister, Alta Sue Camp, preceded him in death. His loving wife, Syble Eakin Allen survives Mr. Allen. Other survivors include two sons, Eddie Allen and Kenny Allen, both of Gurdon; two sisters, Dorothy Porter of Woodlands, Texas, and Ruth Coon of Gurdon; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were entrusted to Horne Funeral Home Sunday, Feb. 4, and held were held in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Center Ridge Cemetery.
