The Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met January 11 at the Bluff City Church of Christ.

There were nine members present.

The members were honored to have Candace Carrie, Nevada County Extension Service - Family and Consumer Sciece, present.

The meeting was called to order by president Marguerite Tomlin.

Inspirational thought was given by Marguerite Tomlin.

Laverne Green called the roll and answers were given with How we survived the winter freeze or a great surprise I received.'

Seems the freeze and no electricity brought back a lot of the good ol' days to many many and a lot of new experience to some. If you had a wood stove and a well of water you could make it fine. This was a time to help each other and to share whatever you had.

I think all will be better prepared for weather changes at home and on the road. Everyone was reminded of a lesson on putting a survival kit in the car before traveling.

Carrie presented a program on How to Survive' in times of trouble, whatever they are.

There are things everyone needs to do to be prepared.

A service committee was selected for the next three months. Members on the committe are Hazel Plyler, Ruth Sullivan and Vernell Loe.

Treasurer's report was given by Ruth Sullivan.

The meeting was adjourned, then potluck was enjoyed by all.
