Oak Grove NewsLULA Q. KENDRICKPublished Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Evening prayer: Each night when I am safe in bed, Jesus is watching from over head; and then it seems I feel so free, for I know my Lord watches over me. It has been a blessed day for me. I went to Oak Grove Baptist Church, where Rev. Parcha is pastor. He really did preach good. He had a nice crowd of children. They really did sing good. They really have a future church of young people. Our first quarterly conference was held at St. Peter. Rev. Thomas Adair brought the message. Herbert Coleman's two sons, Andre' and Duke, were at church Sunday. They both drive 18-wheelers. They are both nice young men. I was glad to see Bro. DeWillie Gulley at church. His sons really look after him. He is really lucky to raise such a nice family of boys. Mrs. Vera Purifoy and I went to see Sis. Girtie Blake Friday. She is in a wheel chair. She can get around good in the chair. Jewel Muldrew is in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. He is not doing so good. Girtie L. Ingram is still in Medical Park Hospital. James C. young went to California for his nephew's wedding. Bracy Tidwell is in a Hot Springs hospital not doing so good. Let's pray for the sick and shut in.
