Sorry I was unable to write news last week. We made a trip to Midland, Texas, last week with granddaughter Ginger and grandson Tyler to help get Brenda and Carl Vandever moved from Midland to Lufkin, Texas. He was transferred on his job with State Farm Insurance. There are two other men there that he had worked with in Texarkana so it wasn't like going to a strange country. Some of the insurance men helped him pack and load in Midland and when we got to Lufkin there were six men to help unload. It's wonderful that we still have caring people.

We were saddened by the news that Max Morman passed away while we were gone. He had been in St. Michael's in Texarkana about two weeks, but had been brought to Hillcrest Nursing Home in Prescott a few days before he passed away. Bro. Donnie Dillard and Bro. Mark Faulkner officiated. The Tye girls rendered the special music. Burial was in the Rosston Cemetery. We send our deepest sympathy to the Morman Family.

Ruth Stokes was buried in Prescott on Thursday. She was a sister to Mrs. Milton Stokes of Prescott. We also send sympathy to this family.

Pat Kim of Houston came last weekend and took her mother, Tommie Lew Jarvis, home with her to have the second eye implant. Hope she will be home soon.

Our new pastor, Bro. Mark Faulkner, and his wife, Stacy, are doing a good work here with the church and especially the youth. They are planning a Valentine banquet and many other things for the youth.

Jim, Mona and Sue Dixon attended the 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday for Ronnie and Vera Lee Dixon in Flint, Texas. I just talked to Vera Lee and they report a great occasion at their son's home there.

Mona Dixon hasn't been feeling well lately and she will see her doctor in Texarkana soon.

Our sister-in-law, Minnie Ella Schmitt, of Hope has been in the hospital for a few days. She went to Little Rock Friday for tests. She did not have a heart attack, but still has some problems so they put her on medication.

Betty Gibson was taken to St. Michael Hospital on Thursday, thinking she had a heart attack, but she didn't and is back home now. Thanks for answered prayers for her and our sister-in-law.

He himself gives life and breath to everything and satisfies every need there is. No good thing will he with hold from those who walk along his paths.
