Military NewsPublished Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneArmy National Guard Pvt. Jennifer L. Ingram has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the training, the soldier received instruction and practice in drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid and U.S. Army history and traditions. She is the daughter of Janie Ingram of Prescott and Teodis Ingram of Crossett. Summer D. Shope has joined the U.S. Army under the delayed entry program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to dely entering active duty for up to one year. The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college education. After completion of basic military training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job speciality. Shope, a 1997 graduate of Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, Texas, will report for basic training January 23. Shope is the daughter of Barbara L. Shope of Corning, Houston, Texas, and Johnny A. Shope of Prescott. James C. Trevillion has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force Reserve to the rank of technical sergeant. Trevillion is an air transportation craftsmen assigned to the 96th Aerial Port Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base. He is a 1988 graduate of Prescott High School.
