Letter: Emmet Aunt Without TV

Published Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

My aunt, who lives in Emmet, lost the power line to her house, many trees in her yard and also her cable TV. The power has been restored and much of the problem with the trees has been cleaned up. However, she has been without her TV for over 28 days. She is 88 years of age and lives alone. TV is almost a necessity for her since she is unable to get out of the house in bad weather.

Repeated calls to Classic Cable of Tyler, Texas, have been made on her behalf. The company has been very polite, but as yet she does not have cable service. Her house is the only house in town that has not been connected. Is there anything your newspaper can do?
