Oak Grove NewsLULA Q. KENDRICKPublished Wednesday, January 17, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune I am sure everybody is glad to see the snow and ice gone. I have never seen anything like it before. I don't think it's all over yet. God is good all the time. Our first organization meeting is Saturday, January 20, at Visitors Chapel in Hot Springs. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. at West Arkansas Conference Women's Missionary Society. Demia Newborn is the president in Hot Springs. Max Morman died Sunday. He once had a filling station at Rosston. He was a very good person. James Johnson worked for Max a long time in Rosston. He was nice to everybody. Sympathy goes out to the Morman family. Dr. Martin Luther King holiday was Monday. He was a good Christian man. I hope everybody will give him the respect he deserves. He had no hate for anyone. He did not deserve to die like he did. God knows best. I hope the ice storm will help us to live better lives. Everything happens for a reason. I hope we all celebrated King's birthday in prayer, instead of drinking. Let's pray for our country, our neighbors and neighbors' children. We need prayer. Girtie L. Ingram is in the hospital in Hope and is not doing well.
