Jesse Roy Steed

Jesse Roy Steed, 73, of Prescott died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Steed was born October 26, 1927, in Pine Bluff to William and Oda Steed. He was owner/operator of the former Liberty Valu-Mart Grocery Store in Prescott. Mr. Steed was a member of the American Legion and an active member of First Church of the Nazarene in Prescott. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Steed.

Cherishing his memory are his loving wife, Dolly Dawson Steed of Prescott; one son, Roy Steed of Springfield, Va., one daughter, Nan Steed May of Murfreesboro; one brother, W.E. Steed of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Dorothy Mooney of Pine Bluff and Joyce Earnest of Rison; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

A memorial service of celebration was held Monday, January 15, at First Church of the Nazarene with Bro. Phillip Hull officiating. Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Prescott or to your favorite charity.
