BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, May 5, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Last week's news: Greetings to all. A sad week of sickness and sorrow for a lot of families. Dexter and Earlene Butler visited Harrel and Nell Butler. Harrel got a bad report from his doctor last week. Brent and Beth Dorman Thomas had a little girl born this week. The baby had some breathing problems, but seems to be getting better. Curt and Maryanna Dorman have been spending some time in Louisiana with them. Sorry to report the death of Joyce Bennet's mother. She lived in California. Allen and Joyce were back in church Sunday. David and Peggy Butler and I went to Little Rock to visit Phyllis. We celebrated Chad's birthday and of course saw Brandi and the 'little great grand' Wesley. He is really growing. Marie Tye visited Linda and Labe Haynie. Michelle was home for the weekend. Marie attended church with them. I understand Gene and Nancy Fore were out on the town celebrating Gene's birthday. Happy birthday and many more. They had dinner at Western Sizzlin. Paul Ward and family were in church and had lunch with Ruth Baker. Word has been received of the death of Faye Fuller of Little Rock, formerly of this area. Services were later this week in Hope. Lillie Mae Phillips, Vivian Alford, Opal Dorman and Laverne Gaines had lunch at Falcon and stopped by for a visit with Ruth Baker. This week's news: This was the weekend for J.D. and Marie Allen to go to Lincoln for the wedding of their granddaughter Amy's wedding. They went on Friday to get in on some of the festivities. The wedding was on Saturday at 2 p.m. Butch, Pat, Jason and Julie Wilbanks of Little Rock attended and some of the folks from Camden. Our pastor, Bro. Tom Stevens, is on the ailing list. He is having back problems and was unable to be with us on Sunday. Jason Teague preached for us. I called to wish my brother Herman a happy birthday on Sunday. He has been in a Little Rock hospital. He came home on Friday. Beth and Brent Thomas's little one has had some problems, but is improving. Maryanna Dorman has been with them. Also, Curt has been there part time. Harland and Nedra McKelvy, Cora Bolls and I went to Prescott on Saturday to the Bluff City School reunion. We enjoyed the getting together and remembering things from days gone by. The number is getting smaller each year. Several have passed on since last year. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
