Boughton NewsMRS. WILLIE HOOKSPublished Wednesday, January 10, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune I fell Christmas Day and broke my wrist and bumped up by eye. I would like to thank my neighbors and friends for helping us when we were without power and phone. Don't know what we would have done without them. I also appreciate the Boughton volunteers for piling the pecan limbs in our yard. May God bless each of you. Delores and J.D Thomas of New Braundsfield, Texas, spent one night during the holidays with us. Elsie Elmore and Herbie Ridgell ate supper with all of us. We extend our sympathy to the family of Lucy Taylor. She died after a lengthy illness. Chloe Orren spent several days with her son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Mary, because of power outage. Mike and Ben Ridgell returned home to California after spending the holidays with their dad, Paul. Robin and Paul took them to Dallas to catch a plane; they spent the night with his sister and brother-in-law, Boletta and Terry Crabtree. Willie Hugh and Carolyn Hooks brought dinner last Friday for our Christmas get-together. My sister, Katie Pittman, and Sue Austin visited us last Saturday and brought a sack of food. Elsie Elmore is proud of a new great grandson named Matt Dillon. Tommy and Helen Elmore are the grandparents. We enjoyed having Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas visit us Sunday afternoon.
