A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse Thursday, January 25, February 22 and March 22.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

To any woman who would like to get together with another woman to pray may get in touch with the local area contact person of Moms in Touch, Beth Ward, at 870-887-6376.

For the past three years the local schools have been covered in prayer by a group of moms who meet on Tuesdays at 1:45 at First Baptist Church to pray for one hour.

Diabetic Education in Prescott will be having its next meeting Wednesday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nevada County Cooperative Extension, 532 West First Street South. The topic will be on fruits and vegetables, selection and preparation.

The speaker will be Candace Carrie, County Extension Agent, Staff Chairman for Nevada County. The meeting is sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension. It is free and open to the public.

Delicia McGough and Jeffrey Dorrough would like to announce the birth of their baby girl, Jai'Yana LaJoyce Dorrough, born Saturday, December 30, 2000, at 2:20 p.m. in Little Rock at Baptist Medical Center. She weighed two pounds and 12 ounces and was 14= inches long.

Great grandparents are Joyce McGough, Willie and Lisa McGough and Alma and Lee Gulley. Great grandparents are Joy Heard and Alberta Banks. Maternal great, great grandmother is Mrs. Linnie King of Waldo.

Private pesticide applicator's training will be held on Thursday, February 8. This is a change from the previously announced February 6th date. The training session will take place at the Nevada County Cooperative Extension Service office in Prescott at 6:30 p.m.
