Oak Grove NewsLULA Q. KENDRICKPublished Wednesday, January 3, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Last week's news: Let's go back to the old time way. I guess the younger folks can see what we are talking about. People who had all electric heated homes can see how it feels. We were blessed to have gas, wood fire and kerosene lamps. All of you who had to go to your neighbors to survive, we know how it feels. We still should count our blessings. It could have been worse. Some of us have nice homes and cars and trucks to ride in, yet we won't even stop by to check on our elder people. We use up today, but tomorrow could be our time. We are concerned about people. That is why we are going through these hardships. We have not seen it all. God is telling us something. Some people don't even give God some of their time. They won't go to church or help support the church or help support the programs in anyway. God sees. He is looking and booking. I thank God for the Tidwell boys. They came back to Rosston and they are really good help to our community, very talented. There is hardly anything they can't do. Bro. Frank Haynie had surgery in Little Rock last week. He is one of our masons at Rosston. Let's pray for the sick and shut-in. Rev. Frank Williams passed away last week. Our sympathy goes out to the Askew and the Williams families. God is calling the young people as well as the old. Mrs. Winnie Talley made 60 pillows for Hillcrest Care and Rehab and Beverly Health and Rehabilitation. It took some sewing to make that many pillows. It was nice of her to think of the old people. I hope they will enjoy them. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
