Picayune Unable To Publish Dec. 27Published Wednesday, January 3, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneDue to the severe inclement weather, the Nevada County Picayune was not able to publish its regular issues December 27. Even though the Picayune is locally owned by the Ragsdale family, the newspaper prints at the Hope Star. The I-30 corridor was completely iced down and Hope was without electricity until late Thursday. Other newspapers in this area were also affected by the weather, which prevented the paper from printed elsewhere. This week's Picayune was printed Friday night, December 29. We apologize to our readers and hope you understand the unfortunate situation that has affected us all. Due to the New Year's holiday the office was to be closed anyway on Monday.
