James W. McCorkleHERNDON FUNERAL HOME of HOPEPublished Wednesday, December 20, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune James W. McCorkle, 51, of Laneburg died Sunday, December 17, 2000, at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born November 21, 1949, in Laneburg. He was an employee of Tyson Foods Live Haul. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Laneburg Baptist Church and a Laneburg Volunteer Fireman. Mr. McCorkle was preceded in death by his father, Clarence McCorkle, and a sister, Eva Korenek. Survivors include his wife, Rita Hickey McCorkle of Laneburg; a son, Brad McCorkle of Laneburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Joe Bob Dorman of Emmet; his mother, Gertrude McCorkle of Prescott; two brothers; Billy Ray McCorkle of Illinois and David McCorkle of Prescott; two sisters, Geneva McLelland of De Queen and Ima Jean Martin of Texas; his mother-in-law, Fern Hickey of Emmet; two grandchildren, Jacob and Amanda Dorman of Emmet; and several nieces and nephews. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, December 20, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Brown, Rev. David Hampton and Rev. Eric Barbaree officiating.
