Bar Association Awards ScholarshipPublished Wednesday, December 20, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Southwest Arkansas Bar Association is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2000 scholarships. The association awarded two scholarships this year in the amount of $500 each. One scholarship was awarded to a student from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law and one was awarded to a student from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of law. Each recipient had to be a resident of one of the counties served by the Southwest Arkansas Bar Association which are Clark, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Pike and Sevier. The scholarship was awarded based on merit and/or financial need. This year's recipient from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of law is Jonathan Martin, a first year law student from Prescott. Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
