Most of our sick folks are improving. They may not be hitting on all cylinders right now, but at least they feel some better. Mrs. Helen Kelley in now in St. Michael's Rebab. and her new room number is 219.

It was reported to me that Bennie Walthall purchased some flower bulbs for the cemetery and that Sam Walthall planted them. So, when you see some new flowers next spring, you will know who is responsible. Every little bit helps, and we are glad to see people take an

interest in improving our cemeteries. We have several cemeteries right here in Nevada County that have been totally neglected for many yearssome with only a few graves and others covering an acre or more.

Christmas lights are going up all over the country and Bluff City is doing its part. A group from here joined other Nevada County Extension Club members for a bus trip to Marshall, Texas, last Saturday to see the light display there. We just happened to meet them at Bryce's Cafeteria in Texarkana, where they had stopped for lunch. Those making the trip from here were Linda Carman, Marguerite Tomlin, James Tomlin, Hazel Plyler, Becky Meador, Ruth Bumpass, Mary Summers, Betty Perkins, and Flo Hardwick.

During some recent research, I came across an article from 1909 that

mentioned a place called Vann's Chapel. I had never heard of it and I guess it has joined the list of other

lost communities of Nevada County. The article stated it was on the Camden-Washington Road on a plot of ground known as Old Yadok, between George Allen's and Thomas

Woodul's. That was probably a good description back in 1909, but it doesn't help me much today. Just another historical tidbit from Nevada County's past.

An item in 1910 mentioned that the Arkadelphia Milling Co. was doing a good bolt business in Bluff City.

One way to lose weight is to eat naked in front of a mirror. Most restaurants will throw you out before you eat too much.
