Boughton NewsMRS. WILLIE HOOKSPublished Wednesday, December 13, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune It's beginning to seem a lot like Christmas; such beautiful lights and hearing Christmas carols. Boughton Church was well attended Sunday. They had lunch at the fellowship hall then several of the church members visited Bro. Junior Thrasher and Ester of Gurdon. Bro. Junior has fallen and is kind of stove up. The young people sang them Christmas carols. Willie and I enjoyed having Bill Joe Walthall visit us Saturday. He also visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas. We were sorry to hear of the death of Harper Ursery last week. He lived a lot of his life in our community. Theresa and Jewel Grifford, Derenda Hartfield and Chrystal and Margie Lucas visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas during the week. Harold and Thelma White did some visiting last week. They visited Betty and Roy Gant Cagle and brought dinner from the Fish Nest and ate dinner with Chloe Orren. They visited a while with Lenord and Faye House, Donnie Rinkle and Lucy Taylor in Hillcrest Care and Rehab. They also visited Raymond White in Heritage Plaza, 600 W. 52nd St., Texarkana, TX 75502 . Cathy spent Wednesday night with Fate House of Powderly, Texas. I think we could use this as an example to visit the sick and shut in. Kim Hughes and daughter, Brittney of Winsfield, La., recently treated her mother Kay Wren to a tour of New York City. They went to two Broadway shows and visited other points of interest. Sounds like we are fixing to have some winter weather. Be careful. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
