Caney NewsRUBY WICKERPublished Wednesday, December 13, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Last week's news: Christmas season is upon us. Lots of beautiful decorations and lots of gift buying. Let's just not forget the reason for the season. Caney community was saddened this week by the death and graveside service of baby, Tyler Wayne Gourley. He was the son of Wayne and Christie Rhodes Gourley. Ritta McBride and Dorothy Apel enjoyed Christmas potluck at their church Sunday after church. Sidney Steed ate lunch with Bro. Junior and Ann Loe Sunday. Buster Green is on the ailing list. He had throat surgery a few weeks ago and is having treatments that make it difficult to swallow. Ryan Stephen Callicott finally put in his appearance November 27. Proud parents are Cannon and Heather. This makes me great grandma! Janice Callicott, Phyllis Stewart and I had lunch with daughter, Amy Sweat, and her daughter, Emily. Afterward we attended a bridal shower for Emily at Avery's Chapel. We were glad to have Bob Lunsford back in church Sunday. He had surgery and will be going back this week for more procedures. It's time to pay monthly bills so I'll be back next week if the mail is not late again. (Editor' note: the mail was late again. Caney news was received Thursday, December 7, even though it was post marked December 4.) Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
