Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, December 13, 2000 in the Gurdon Times Tuesday of last week at the center we told some of our childhood memories. The Gurdon High School band played for us and the square dancers were here on Friday. Last month's birthdays were Genella Harris, Estelle Bear, Harvey McCray, Tommie Hays, Stella McClure, Valarie Smith, Mable Ball, Chorles Kyle, Wanda White, Edmond Anderson, Alice Griffin, Birdie Quarles, Eulah Wilson, Edgar White, Geneva Caldwell, Austin Capps, Lavella Easley, Violet Gills, Adell Tucker, Tom Bray and Corinthia Hale. Christmas is almost here. I have been enjoying the pretty lights. The center held its Christmas dinner Sunday, Dec. 10. We thank the staff for donating their time and for all our other volunteers. The music makers will sing at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center in Arkadelphia Dec. 12. The Cabe Middle School eighth grade girls will sing for us today, Wednesday, and National Park Medical Center will be at the center on Dec. 14 to offer blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
