HAZEL MEEKS
Published Wednesday, December 6, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to put up your Christmas tree.

We are really proud of our young folks and it was a honor of Cole Hillery and Garrett Crelin to be escorts at the Miss PHS pageant on Saturday night.

Billie Ridling spent three days with the Trailblazers in Branson, Mo. They saw four great shows, but the best was The Promise, depicting the life of Christ.

Kay Hendrix, Linda Ghormly and Wilma Compton spent Saturday in Texarkana shopping and mostly looking for Santa.

Cherrie and Katy Wilson are so faithful to visit Grandma Mozelle Gill at Hillcrest Rehab. They dropped by Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week. They will never regret taking time to cheer her up.

Thais McLelland was thrilled to have most of her family for Thanksgiving, including John and Dawn McLelland, Ross, Mon and Jake Burley of Kingwood, Texas, Patsy and Sam Rowe from Alvin, Texas, Sharon Shannon from Grandberry, Texas, Jane McLelland from Plano, Texas, and Jackie McLelland from Kansas City. Doug and Peggy Burley were not able to make the trip, but they are doing much better.

Tuesday night Cherrie and Katy Wilson, Katy Cox, Chilista Douglas and Matthew Hodges attended the Nevada Blue Jays basketball game.

Joy Cox and her sister Louise Willis spent Friday in Hope.

Julene and Willie Hulan attended a piano festival for their granddaughters, Kim and Ashley, at Ouachita Baptist University Saturday night. They are the daughters of Thomas and Linda Hulan.
