Dr. Piotr Skurowski To Present Lecture At Texas A&M University

Dr. Piotr Skurowski, an internationally recognized Polish scholar, will present a lecture on Central Europe Thursday, May 20, at 7:00 p.m. in room 141 of Texas A&M University at Texarkana in the new Academic building.

Dr. Skurowski's presentation will focus on both historical and current events in Central Europe. In particular, he will speak on Poland's recent admission to NATO and the Balkan conflict. Following his remarks, a question and answer session will be held.

Dr. Shurowski earned the doctorate from Warsaw University and has taught at Warsaw University, Kent State University, East Texas State University and the University of Tennessee. He is currently a visiting professor in the Department of American Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

He has published books and articles in both English and Polish on subjects ranging from American literature (Henry Adams and Mark Twain) to Polish politics and the anti-communist revolution. He has demonstrated special interest in America's cultural impact on post-communist Central Europe.

Persons interested in Europe are invited to participate in an evening of conversation with Dr. Skurowski. There is no charge to attend.
