Classy Moments from Cabe Middle SchoolPublished Wednesday, November 29, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesI think we were all excited about having a few days off during the Thanksgiving holiday, but, as the saying goes, it is good to be "home." Before you know it we will be out for the Christmas holidays. We are beginning to think that time flies at Cabe Middle School. Wonder if it seems like that due to how busy we are. Another saying is "time flies when you are having fun." Maybe that's it. We are having so much fun learning that we just loose track of time. ( I don't plan to use any more old' sayings at this time.) We are so proud of our students as we learned about a family that needed help and just wish you could have seen the big response of help our students brought forth. Thanksgiving is a time to stop and take into account for all that we have to be thankful for. Friends should be on the top of our list as we certainly can see how quickly others are ready to help a friend in need. Cassey Purifoy is moving. There goes a junior high cheerleader, a seventh grader and a friend of many. She will be moving to Louisiana. We always hate to see one of ours move away, but we wish her the best and know that she will be well accepted at her new school. We extend a warm welcome back to Syndey Foshee. It is about time as we allowed her to go to Oklahoma last year, but so glad she is back with us. Those eighth graders have recited the Preamble and now they are getting ready to really "dig" into the Constitution. This election has really placed a big interest in that document. Oh, such excitement!! Mrs. Clingan was awarded a grant to purchase four walkie talkies for teachers to use when on duty away from the main building. They will provide immediate contact to the office in case of an emergency or other needs. Deer hunters? You bet! We have many experienced deer hunters among our students. They can really share the tales of the hunt. We just want them to be careful and be safe hunters. With the Christmas season officially in full force that adds to our busy schedule as we continue to make those Classy Moments at CMS. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
