RosstonPublished Wednesday, May 12, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. It seems that we have been enjoying it all week. Both our sons and grandson had to work today, but they visited ahead of time. Jim and Booie Williams of Prescott came on Tuesday night and took Roscoe and me to the Crossroads Buffet for supper. Son Dwight and Marion Williams of Texarkana, Ark., came Thursday night. On Friday night Roscoe and I had supper at the Duck Inn in Camden with Bill and Pat Lusby. Today (Sunday) Bill and Pat came and had grilled steak with us. Roscoe and I visited with Uncle Arnold Williams and Doug, Rhonda and Lindsey Morgan of Camden on Friday night. Church was over-flowing today for Mother's Day. The A. B. Lucks had 17 family members present and Margaret Jackson had 14 family members present. Mrs Odeal Dillard received the corsage as being the oldest mother present, Tara Carlton received a corsage for being the youngest mother present and Wendy Morman received one for having the most children present. There was a tie between Wendy and Margaret Jackson. There were too many visitors to mention, but we were happy to have all of them. The Helen Daniels family all met at daughter, Jeanette, and Randy Goodeau's house on Saturday night. The Max Mormans had lunch today for their children, the Maxie Mormans and the Mike Cottinghams of Prescott. The Dail Evans had their family on Saturday for Mother's Day. The Ellis Baileys had their children as guests on Saturday. Roscoe and I attended the beautiful 50th wedding anniversary of Joe and Virginia Dillard at the Douglas Building in Hope on Saturday afternoon. Others from Rosston visiting were Bernise and Louise Ritter, Paul and Dot Braussard and Claudie and LeVergne White. Claudie and Levergne White attended a school reunion in Hope before the anniversary party. The Felts Hart family of Houston, Texas, attended the Purtle reunion before the anniversary. All three of their daughters were present, along with many friends and relatives. We regret that Sherry Dillard Clark had to be taken back to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana and did not get to attend her parents' anniversary. Tommy O'Keefe was the winner of a shopping spree at Wal-Mart, given by the youth of our church. Bro. Petie, Laura and P.J. had lunch with one of Petie's brothers on Saturday. They entertained all of Laura's family with a meal during the holidays. I'm sure there was a lot of coming and going to Mom's house for Mother's Day that I didn't hear about.
