Charmett's ClubPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Charmett's Club hosted their first meeting of the year at Wolves. There were 14 members present for the opening meeting. At this time club sisters enjoyed an evening meal and fellowship about summer activities. Following a brief meeting officers were elected for the year 2000-2001. They are Patricia Roberts, president; Loretta Fort, vice president; Verion Adams, secretary; Shunna Austin, corresponding secretary; Joyce Gibson, treasurer; Marceia Muldrow and Elaine Williams, reporters; Linda Moore chaplin; Vera Austin, historian; and Mae Hamilton, parliamentary. Other important members are Yvonne Thomas, Gladys Kirby, Dorothy Smith, Anita Henry and Michelle Rhodes. The meeting was called to order by vice president Loretta Fort in the absence of president Patricia Roberts. Plans for the coming year include a wedding shower for Satyra Austin, bride-elect of Cleveland Riggins, Angel Tree gifts for a selected angel, Christmas party for members and guests among other special activities through the year. This is just a few of the many activities the club provides each year. The next scheduled meeting will be held at Wolves on January 17.
