Letter To The EditorPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneI cannot call you Governor, for just as the Jews crucified Jesus, you, sir, have turned your back and crucified the people of Arkansas, the same people who will not elect you to office in the future. How could you be such a turncoat? Do you expect an appointment from Bush? Is that more important than you own people are? I for one am very disappointed in you, but you have made it very clear that you could care less about the people of Arkansas and how we feel. You know, I do feel sorry for you though. Think about it, when all of the big guys you are trying to impress turn away from you, where are you going to go? Definitely not to Arkansas, just as soon as we get you out of office we will be finished with you. Enjoy your time left as Governor, because the next thing you will get from Arkansas is a big goodbye. By the way, I really don't think Mr. Bush is going to want someone as unpopular as you on his team. It really wouldn't be good for his image, and who is to say that you will not turn on him? I am very proud to be a citizen of Arkansas and I am not ashamed for anyone to know it. However, I am ashamed of who we have put in the Governor's office; but trust me, we will not make that mistake again. You, Mr. Huckabee, have hurt many people's feelings; those people are the same people who have supported you in the past. This letter may seem tasteless to some, but I will not apologize. If this is what it takes to get your attention, then let it be tasteless, because the people of Arkansas need to be heard and need a change.
