Boughton NewsMRS. WILLIE HOOKSPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Deer hunting is still in the news, but getting ready for Thanksgiving is the big news. Everyone I call is getting ready. We are looking for our son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Marjorie of Mayesville, S.C., our grandson, Doug Hooks of Bellingham, Wash., and our son Willie Hugh of Hot Springs, as well as Willie Hugh's family during the holidays. There have been several deer killed in our area. Willie and Willie Hugh got a deer the first day of gun season. We extend our sympathy to the family of Hambric Cummings. He died last week after a lengthy illness and was buried Friday at Liberty Cemetery. We also extend our sympathy to the family of Annie Lee Cornelius. Bro. Travis George and his wife, Rhonda, and Ann Oliver visited Chloe Orren during the week. Theresa and Jewel Grifford visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas during the week. Lyndon Cowart (Agatha Hooks' husband) had balloon surgery last week. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
