Olva L. Dorman, 88, of Bodcaw died Wednesday, November 15, 2000, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mr. Dorman was born October 30, 1912, in Hempstead County to Amos Green and Lola Purtle Dorman. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of Bruner-Ivory Handle Mill of Hope. He was a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie I. Fagan Dorman; four brothers, Earl, Curtis, Basil and A.G., two sisters, Gladys Morehead and Leona Garner, and by two great grandsons, Jeffrey Harding and Joel Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Harolwl Dorman of Magnolia and Robert Dorman of Bodcaw; one brother, G.W. Dorman of Hope; five sisters, Alta Mullins, Lola Mae Allen and Opal Barger all of Hope and Ruby Vines and Lillie Allen of Bodcaw; seven grandchildren, 15 grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Billy Mack Russell and Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Bodcaw #1 Cemetery in Bodcaw under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
