John Ira GoodwinBRAZZEL / OAKCREST CHAPEL of HOMEPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune John Ira Goodwin, 72, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at his home. Mr. Goodwin was born September 30, 1928, in Stamps to Oris and Claudine Collier Goodwin. He was a truck driver, mechanic and an oil field worker and member of Eagle Rock Tabernacle Church of Texarkana. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William H. Goodwin. Survivors include his wife, Vicky Goodwin of Texarkana, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Anna and Curtis Dorman of Bodcaw, Debbie and Ron Wood of Magnolia and Johnnie Lou and Tommy Pevytoe of Benton; three step-daughters, Shelly Vickers of Bodcaw, Dana Fuller of Texarkana and Brandy Tardy of New Orleans, La.; one step-son, Troy Tardy of New Orleans; one sister, Maxine Miers of Magnolia; one brother, James Goodwin of Stamps; seven grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. His body was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
