William 'Son' Delaney

William Son' Delaney, 75, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Delight, died Friday, November 17, 2000, at a Murfreesboro nursing home.

Mr. Delaney was born December 11, 1924, at Delight, the son of the late James Edward and Edna Margaret Bradford Delaney. He was a retired millwright in Oregon, a member of A.M. Vets and the First Methodist Church. He was a volunteer driver for V.A. Hospital for 15 years and an active nursing home singer and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Delaney was preceded in death by a sister, Mrytle Byrum.

Survivors include his wife, Carrietta Delaney of Delight; two sons, Michael Delaney and his wife Shelli of Delight and David Delaney and his wife Darlene of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Hecke and Michelle Delaney of Delight; two sisters, Tessi McWilliams of South Gate, Calif., and Zelma Hendrix of Delight; three grandsons, two great granddaughters, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 20, at First Methodist Church in Delight with Bro. Freeman Henderson officiating. Burial was in Delight Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
