Hambric L. CummingsBRAZZEL / CORNISH FUNERAL HOME of PRESCOTTPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Hambric L. Cummings, 80, of Prescott died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, in Prescott. Mr. Cummings was born January 26, 1920, in Prescott to Genie and Sallie Wynn Cummings. He was a cattle rancher and farmer. He was known for his expertise as a cattleman and with farm equipment. He was a lifetime member of Liberty Church of the Nazarene. On his 75th birthday the church honored him with Hambric Cummings Day,' and with a certificate of distinguished award for his service to God, the Church and his country. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Central Europe and Rhineland Theater receiving numerous awards. He was an avid Razorback football fan. He knew most of the major coaches and players in other states by name. Throughout his life he has been an inspiration. He was truly a great servant for God and mankind. His life made him someone that no one will ever forget. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Brooks, and one niece, Christy Cummings. Survivors include one brother, Hoyt Cummings of Prescott; two sisters, Chlois C. Newman of Prescott and Greta Faye Davis McCaskill of Prescott; one sister-in-law, Maxine P. Cummings of Prescott; two nephews, Brooks Jr. and Pat Cummings of California and Jeff Davis of Texarkana, Ark.; two nieces and their husbands, Nancy and Larry Stockton and Debbie and John Brannan all of Prescott; one great niece and her husband, Suzy Brannan Welch and Matthew of Little Rock; and four great nephews, Clint Stockton, Matthew Brannan, Andy Davis and Todd Cummings. Funeral services were held Friday, November 17, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Betty Stinson and Levern Stinson officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. Memorials may be made to the Liberty Church of the Nazarene-Parsonage Building Fund, Rt 2, Prescott. Pallbearers were Steve Boeckman, Rex Hildebrand, David Hildebrand, David Barlow, Bob Cummings, Pete DeWoody, James Cottingham and John McLelland.
