Library Committee Selects ArchitectsBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, November 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Trull-Hollensworth will be the architectural firm designing the new Prescott-Nevada County Library. The Library Board met Thursday, Nov. 16, to select an architect, with four firms showing interest. Along with Trull-Hollensworth, David French of French Architects of Hot Springs was on hand, as was Bill Patton, of Bill Patton Architects, along with a proposal from the RHB Group of Texarkana, Texas. Three of the firms had someone on hand to discuss the plans they had for the library. When all was said and done, the board decided to go with Trull-Hollensworth. Additionally, the board received two bids for the removal of the buildings currently standing where the library will be built. B&R Construction submitted a bid of $36,575, which was accepted by the panel. B&R, from Arkadelphia, will demolish and remove all structures, foundations and building material from the site. Local residents can get free brick from the demolished structures as the board agreed to have a five-day period between the demolition of the buildings and removal of the debris. Depending on how long it takes to disconnect and remove utilities from the buildings there now, the demolition work should begin sometime in early December.
