Winners Named For Punt, Pass And Kick ContestPublished Wednesday, November 15, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayunePrescott youngsters did well in the local punt, pass and kick contest, as more than 40 participated in the event. The PPK contest was held Monday, Nov. 6, at the Prescott High School football field, being sponsored by the Prescott Parks and Recreation Department. Patricia Inlow took first place for girls in the 8-9 division. She had a punt of 11 feet, passed the ball 23 feet, had a kick of 16 feet for a total of 50 feet overall. Danielle Wilson was first in the 10-11 group for girls. Her punt was 16 feet, her pass sailed 60 feet, with a kick of 57 feet for a total of 133 feet. Second place in the 10-11 bunch went to Jordan Haynie, who had a punt of 25 feet, passed the ball 35 feet, but only had a two-foot kick for a total of 62 feet. For girls 12-13, Jesna Inlow was the winner. She punted the ball 55 feet, passed it 77 feet, and kicked it 82 feet for a total of 214 feet. Second went to Ashley Higgenbotham. She punted the ball 62 feet, threw it 40 feet and kicked it 30 feet for 132 total feet. For the boys, London Cole captured first in the 8-9 category. He punted the ball 39 feet, passed it 63 feet and kicked it 66 feet, for a total of 168 feet. Kenneth Haynie was second. His punt went 37 feet, pass went 72 feet and kick went 32 feet, for 141 feet overall. Cade Richards finished third. His punt went 43 feet, as did his pass, while the kick traveled 52 feet, for 138 feet. Fourth in the division went to Steven Kehner. His punt went 37 feet, pass flew 51 feet and kick went for 31 feet, giving him a total of 119 feet. Julius Giles was fifth. His punt went 37 feet, pass traveled 43 feet and kick was 36 feet for 116 feet. In the 10-11 group, Jeremy Hubbard was the winner. He had a punt of 69 feet, pass of 77 feet and kicked the ball 72 feet for 218 feet overall. Garrett Crellin was second. He punted the ball 59 feet, threw it 76 feet and kicked it 70 feet for 205 feet. Third went to Anson Nygard. His punt went 59 feet, pass traveled 69 feet and kick went 68 feet for a total of 196 feet. Gavan McCauley was fourth with a punt of 37 feet, pass of 62 feet and kick of 66 feet for 165 feet. Robert Cason was fifth. His punt went 56 feet, pass flew 71 feet and kick went 32 feet, giving him 159 feet. In the 12-13 group, Ben Smith took first place. He punted the ball 79 feet, passed it 110 feet and kicked it 71 feet for 260 overall feet. Second went to Cameron Wilson. Wilson's punt traveled 80 feet as did his pass. His kick was for 62 feet, giving him a total of 222 feet. Matthew Haynie was third. His punt went 45 feet, pass sailed 68 feet and kick went 77 feet for 190 feet. Fourth place went to Ricardo Smith, who had a punt of three feet, pass of 52 feet and kick of 63 feet for 118 feet. Finishing fifth was Maxwell Hamilton. He had a pass of 31 feet, kick of 85 feet and kick of one foot for 117 feet. The top three finishers were given trophies provided by Dox Sports Shop of Nashville.
