We have had lots of rain in our community; we needed it so badly.

Shane and Amanda Meador from Murfreesboro had lunch with his parents, Sandy and Sid Meador.

Shanna Loe from hot Springs, where she works and lives, spent the weekend with her parents, Bud and Sandy Loe.

Ida Haynie has returned home after spending a week in Little Rock with her son, Robert, and his wife and daughter and family, Carol, Jim and Luke McDonald.

Al and Peggy Butrick from Mississippi is spending several days with Billie Ridling.

Shannon and Dave Henderson and Jerry and Darlene Henderson attended the Memphis Flee Market over the weekend.

Gigi Golden and Bobby Plyer from Hope visited George and Joey Cox on Sunday night.

Tom Barham from Tennessee recently spent several days with his sister, Carolyn Purtle, and her family in Hope and his son, Brad Barham, and his two children. We also enjoyed his visit with Neil and me.

There were lots of deer killed in our community Saturday, but only three hunters came by to show us their trophies. They were Shane Meador, Randy Lowdermilk and Kyle Pennington.

John Burdue's family, Gina, Erica and Ryan, honored him with a birthday party at their home on Saturday night. Those attending were his mother, LaNell Nash, Brenda and Lynn Wilbanks, Cynthia, Allmon, Gary and Kristi Wilbanks and kids, Sue Ann and Greg Christopher and kids, Jerrold Junior and Tonya Taylor and son, Jeremy and Harvey and Faye Taylor.

Cherrie and Katy Wilson visited Katy's grandmother, Nancy Booker, in Hope on Friday and her Aunt Tammy and five cousins.

On Saturday Cherrie took Katy to Malvern to meet Katy's grandmother, Mimi Jackie Lucas, to spent the weekend in Redfield.

The rooster may crow, but it's the hen that delivers the goods.
